Call for Entries - Professional Development Network Paper Competition – Scottish Branch Carron Trophy

The Pipeline Industries Guild is keen to promote opportunities and challenges of the Pipeline Industry as a potential career to a new generation of young people. This competition has been arranged to provide continuing professional development (CPD) to both entrants and audience members and is an excellent opportunity for young professionals to promote themselves and their company.

 

Professional Development Network Paper Competition – Carron Competition


Your chance to win the Carron Trophy and ***£250*** for the winner and ***£100*** for runner up.

The Winner will present at the Annual Guild Conferecne on May 11th at the MTC in Coventry and will be presnting alongside our Keynote speakers Richard Price Chief Operating Officer of Bristol Water, Helen Boyle, Head of Regional Development (North West and West Midlands) of Cadent Gas, Jon Butterworth, Chief Executive Officer, National Grid Gas Transmission and Metering, Andrew Black MA FRICS, Senior Lecturer in Rural Land, Property Management and Valuation at Harper Adams University, Nicole Fever, Development Technician of Steve Vick International. 


To enter, simply submit a 200-word synopsis to Stuart Sherlock (Stuart.Sherlock@SGN.co.uk) by no later than 20th April 2022.


Entries will then be assessed, and successful finalists will be invited to present at the competition regional final on Wednsday 27th April 2022 on a virtual Microsoft Teams call.


The finalists will then deliver a 15-minute presentation on a subject of relevance to the pipelines industry whilst clearly demonstrating their own personal involvement. They must also be prepared to answer questions from the audience and judges for a further period of 5 minutes.


Entrants must be between 18 and 35 years of age.
